Debbie Douglas

Debbie is originally from Pasadena, California before her family moved to Charleston, S.C. She later lived in Smyrna, Georgia and currently lives in Hiram, Georgia.

She is a versatile artist and her creative palette includes: people, animals, landscapes, still lifes and architecture as subjects. She received her degree in Art from Georgia State University. While at GSU, she studied illustration under Allan Tiegreen. After college she joined these art organizations: Frederick Count Artist Association, Frederick, MD, South Cobb Arts Alliance, Mableton, GA, Atlanta Artists Gallery & Club, Atlanta, GA, Southeastern Pastel Society and the Georgia Decorative Arts Society. She studied Art Direction at the Portfolio Center, did an internship with CNN Headline News in the Graphic Department. She also studied with noted portrait artist, George Mandus, and with pastel artist, Susan Smith.

Debbie is an Atlanta Artists Gallery & Club juried member and has participated in and received several 1st and 2nd place awards in their juried shows. She also was in the International Juried Art Show on the World Wide Web entitled "Private Muses" in 1997. She exhibited her artwork at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta and Roper Hospital in Charleston.

She has done creative work for the following companies: Beswick International, Bramble Bush, Persnickety, Calvin Klein, and a wall mural at Life Grocery. Her work has appeared in the Burchwood Gallery in Dunwoody, Communities Magazine, and the Mable House Gallery. Other creative work for companies include NCM International, Architectural renderings, and book illlustrations for Susan Smith.

She has a large oil painting, "Nature's Fury" hanging in a large upscale home in LaCanada, California overlooking the Rose Bowl. Her artwork is now archived in The White House and she has a letter from Michelle Obama.

This award winning artist does commissioned artwork. A comment by one of her clients said, "Her artistic Creation transforms an otherwise mundane wall into a dream-like vision of warmth...of beauty...of Nature...of life."

Debbie says, "We are all travelers in life; isn't it fabulous that I'm able to record some of the more dramatic, maybe even left unseen moments on paper or canvas."
