Wendy Herubin

A budding artist since early childhood, Wendy would draw murals on the walls of her bedroom. In middle school, she began drawing portraits of her friends and family as gifts. She excelled in art: drawing, sculpture, screen printing, cast jewelry and painting during her high school years.

Wendy's main focus of study at Mission College in Santa Clara, CA was art - cast and carved sculpture, drawing and oil painting. After college, marrying, and starting a family, she studied sculpting and painting at the Villa Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA. Moving with her family to the Georgia suburbs of Atlanta, in 1984, she continued her passion by enrolling in the Art Institute of Atlanta, where she studied Interior Design. She spent 18 years raising her three children, working in Interior Design, and dabbling in art of all types.

As an empty-nester she has come back to her passion: ART, Jumping back into art, she studied with Chris DiDomazio at Old World Fine Art and with Famed Atlanta portrait artist, Marc Chatov. Wendy is now a full time artist (and loving it) working in portraiture and landscapes. A member of the Booth Western Museum Artists Guild and the Paulding Fine Arts Association, Wendy has a working studio at the Paulding Fine Arts Association as well as one on her farm in Dallas, GA. She enjoys her animals. Mini horses, pot belly pigs, goats, chickens, dogs, cats - there is always something fun to paint on the farm!

Three years ago, she began growing gourds on her farm and incorporated them into her artwork. From chicken sculptures to life size ladies, the gourds have become a whimsical style of art that is sure to put a smile on your face.

She will be the Artist in Residence at the Georgia State Fair in Perry, GA on October 6- 7, 2018!
