The Paulding Fine Arts Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization created in 1982 to provide the citizens of Paulding County with opportunities to experience the arts on all levels through observation, education and participation.
The PFAA Fine Arts Center is located in the Convention Center at 121 E. Griffin Street in Dallas, Georgia. The Fine Arts Center has 3000 square feet of planned exhibit space, and has an average of 100 visitors per show. Exhibits range from art collections of the early 1800's, traditional country scenes to modern day and children's works. The artists are often from Paulding or surrounding counties. The community has the opportunity to meet each exhibiting artist at a reception held to "open" the exhibit.
The Paulding Fine Arts Association holds an annual art competition in February for the children in the county. The 2005 Student Art Show drew 150 entrants - our largest participation ever! PFAA also sponsors an annual Fine Art Competition for adult artists who are citizens of Paulding County or members of PFAA. In October 2007 PFAA hosted it's first ever Juried Art Show which was available for artists in Paudling and surrounding counties to submit works which then were "juried" (accepted or rejected) into the show. Once the accepted entries were delivered these entries were judged and awarded ribbons and prize money.
One of the main objectives for the Association is the High School Scholarship Award, which is presented each year to a High School Senior who is planning to enter college to obtain a degree in an art field.
The Paulding Fine Arts Association meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center. The public is invited to attend. Persons interested in joining please contact PFAA by phone (770 443-1649) or click on the mailbox below for e-mail. Art Exhibits sponsored by The Paulding Fine Arts Association are available for viewing during the normal hours of operation for the Civic/Convention Center, Monday through Saturday. PFAA members may be on site at The Fine Arts Center 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and again on Saturday between 10:00am and 2:00pm. Please stop by and visit the current exhibit.
